Flame Tree Barbecue is a counter service location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that serves up various barbecue dishes for lunch and dinner. The meat on most entrées will be smoked, rather than grilled. You’ll find the restaurant located in the Discovery Island area of Animal Kingdom. Here in our Flame Tree Barbecue review, we’ll cover our dining experience. The review will include our thoughts on the restaurant’s theme, food, and that great view you can get of Expedition Everest! As usual, we’ll have plenty of pictures to go along with the review.

More Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Details Released

It’s hard to believe that we are now less than 30 days away from the return of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Part of that disbelief on our part is that the year is flying by. The other part of it is that Disney has somehow deemed mid-August the right time to start the parties. How better to kick fall off than by torturing cast members and guests alike by making them dress up in Halloween costumes while it is sweltering hot! But I digress.

Disney dropped more Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party details this week (link), so we thought it was time to round up all we know. Disney previously announced that they were making some changes to the party and I guess at the 30 days out mark it was time for them to release some more details. Let’s round up what we know, and maybe we’ll speculate about the party a little bit!

Epcot’s World Showcase is known for showcasing (no pun intended) the culture and food of 11 countries around the world. Situated in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot, you will find the San Angel Inn Restaurante. We’ve seen some people describe the food served here as Tex-Mex and I have to say that can’t be anything further from the truth. I say that as someone who grew up eating real Tex-Mex every week…or maybe every day. Here in our San Angel Inn Restaurante review, we’ll talk about the atmosphere, theming and food at this decidedly Mexican restaurant.

Noted for their cost efficiency, value resorts achieve lower price points by offering a less developed theme, smaller rooms and fewer amenities. This is our Disney’s Art of Animation Resort review, where we cover all of these items, including the theme, general setup of the resort, the rooms and if we think the resort offers value that is worth considering. The norm with all of the value resorts at Disney World is to have one dining option. These dining options are food courts, which allows the value resorts to cater to a wide array of taste preferences. The food court at Disney’s Art of Animation resort is called Landscape of Flavors and this is our review of it.

As we have been making a tour of the Disney World value resorts, we have noted many similarities among the food courts as far as menu selection, layout, and basic décor. Just as we feel Art of Animation is a “step-up” in the quality of a value resort, we feel like Landscape of Flavors is superior to the various food courts we have encountered.

Mermaid School at Disney World Review

Starting this summer, Disney World has a new offering that will appeal to kids that feel they are destined to swim in the sea with Ariel and her friends. Known as Mermaid School at Disney World, your little ones can learn to swim like a mermaid or merman, if the boys so choose. We surprised Anna and Elsa with a session on a recent trip, so we thought we’d write a Mermaid School at Disney World review for those of you that are interested.

As part of our review, we’ll give you the 411 on the cost, locations, and other basics of Mermaid School at Disney World. We’ll then dive into (no pun intended) this unique experience, walking you through what all the “class” involves. Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom Review

This summer Disney World started a new after hours hard ticket event. Known as “Villains After Hours”, this event features many similarities to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but with notable (and generally better) differences. I stayed for the party recently to see what it was all about, and in general I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! Here in our Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom review, I’ll give you all the details on what is offered, the unique food available during the party, along with my thoughts on its strengths and weaknesses.

Hollywood Studios FastPass Priority Changing

Last week, rumors started to circulate that Disney was changing the FastPass priority for Hollywood Studios in connection with the opening of Galaxy’s Edge on August 29th. When I first read about it I asked Carla if we should post something, to which she said “we’re not going to be one of those rumormongers!” Well now pretty much every Disney blog out there has posted something about the Hollywood Studios FastPass priority changing, so it doesn’t feel like a rumor now….even if Disney hasn’t released anything officially. There are verified screen grabs of the FastPass system showing this for club level resort guests that can book their FastPass reservations 90 days in advance, so it feels pretty legit.

Early Morning Magic at the Magic Kingdom

A recent trend at Disney World is to offer “hard ticket” events outside of normal park hours that give you a chance to tour the parks with limited crowds. Sometimes these ‘hard ticket” events include special character meet and greets, parades and other entertainment. The most well-known events are Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but there are other events. Most special events are held in the evening, which isn’t always suitable for everyone, particularly the demographic of families and groups with small children. While either trying to create offerings for all guest demographics or simply trying to figure out different ways they can get extra money from their guests, Disney began offering “Early Morning Magic” at the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Be Our Guest Restaurant Lunch Review

When Be Our Guest Restaurant opened as part of the Fantasyland expansion in 2012, it instantly because a smash hit restaurant to dine in at Magic Kingdom. As a counter service meal for breakfast and lunch, Be Our Guest offers an incredible themed experience at a relatively good price. If you didn’t know already, based upon the name you can probably surmise that Be Our Guest Restaurant is themed to the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. While we’ve eaten here several times over the years, we recently had lunch at Be Our Guest for the first time since we started the blog. We figured it was time for a review of one of the most popular restaurants in all of Disney World.
