Hawai’i is a booth at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival that we definitely looked forward to eating at again. The 2019 Epcot Food & Wine Festival incarnation of the Hawai’i booth is mostly like last year. The only change from is the addition of the Aulani Sunrise. Here in our Hawai’i review from the Food and Wine Festival, we’ll review the items we ate, including our thoughts on those dishes.
Australia is a returning favorite this year to the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival. The booth is located just to the right of the Port of Entry store and almost across from the Refreshment Port. Its location near the entry area to the World Showcase and proximity to the Canada booth makes this a popular stop. The booth is also popular due to its excellent food and drink options.
One of the new global marketplaces at the 2019 Epcot Food & Wine is the Appleseed Orchard. In this post, we’ll review the items we sampled at Appleseed Orchard, including our thoughts on some specific dishes and drinks and the “booth” in general.
Today we return to Garden Grill over in Epcot’s The Land Pavilion. This table service restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a family-style meal setting. This time we are reviewing dinner at Garden Grill. For all practical purposes, this is lunch too, as the meals are the same. We just happened to have dinner at Garden Grill on this trip. As we noted in our Garden Grill breakfast review, this Epcot restaurant is a notable venue for several reasons. First is that it is the only rotating restaurant at Disney World. Second, it is one of only a few restaurants that overlook a ride. Third, it is an all you care to eat meal. Finally, Garden Grill is a character meal! 50’s Prime Time Café is an opening day restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (then known as Disney’s MGM Studios). Very little has changed in thirty years of the restaurant operating, but nothing really needs to. 50’s Prime Time Café transports you to a kitchen found in homes in the 1950s, complete with all of the kitschy décor that was used to decorate a house back then. Here in our 50’s Prime Time Cafe review, we’ll examine the restaurant’s theme, atmosphere, and food. As per usual, it will include a healthy dose of pictures of it all too!
Flame Tree Barbecue is a counter service location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that serves up various barbecue dishes for lunch and dinner. The meat on most entrées will be smoked, rather than grilled. You’ll find the restaurant located in the Discovery Island area of Animal Kingdom. Here in our Flame Tree Barbecue review, we’ll cover our dining experience. The review will include our thoughts on the restaurant’s theme, food, and that great view you can get of Expedition Everest! As usual, we’ll have plenty of pictures to go along with the review.
It’s hard to believe that we are now less than 30 days away from the return of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Part of that disbelief on our part is that the year is flying by. The other part of it is that Disney has somehow deemed mid-August the right time to start the parties. How better to kick fall off than by torturing cast members and guests alike by making them dress up in Halloween costumes while it is sweltering hot! But I digress.
Disney dropped more Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party details this week (link), so we thought it was time to round up all we know. Disney previously announced that they were making some changes to the party and I guess at the 30 days out mark it was time for them to release some more details. Let’s round up what we know, and maybe we’ll speculate about the party a little bit!
Epcot’s World Showcase is known for showcasing (no pun intended) the culture and food of 11 countries around the world. Situated in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot, you will find the San Angel Inn Restaurante. We’ve seen some people describe the food served here as Tex-Mex and I have to say that can’t be anything further from the truth. I say that as someone who grew up eating real Tex-Mex every week…or maybe every day. This summer Disney World started a new after hours hard ticket event. Known as “Villains After Hours”, this event features many similarities to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but with notable (and generally better) differences. I stayed for the party recently to see what it was all about, and in general I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!
